Just Because You Can Ride Does Not Mean You’ll Want To
Most adults can ride the attractions at Universal Kids Resort.
Whether every adult will want to ride all of them is another question entirely.
Many of the attractions spin, rotate, bounce or travel repeatedly in circles. This makes sense at a park built around younger children, who apparently possess unlimited energy and inner ears made from industrial grade materials.
Adults may not be quite so fortunate.
Mr. DNA’s Double Helix Spin
Mr. DNA’s Double Helix Spin twists and turns while riders move around the attraction in individual vehicles.
This one spins a lot even though some spinning motion can be controlled.
Adults who struggle with circular motion may want to observe the ride before volunteering. It may be bright, cheerful and built for children, but none of those things prevent it from making a grown adult regret breakfast.

Jellyfish Fields Jamboree

It is not necessarily intense, but adults who dislike heights, suspended seating or continuous circular movement may prefer to watch it before riding.
This is one of those attractions that looks very sweet from the ground and slightly more ambitious once the swings begin moving.
Bello Bay Cruise
Bello Bay Cruise is primarily a family water attraction, but the boats can also spin.
Based on our team’s experience, the amount of spinning can vary from ride to ride. Factors such as the water level, weight distribution in the boat and how the vehicle moves through the course appear to affect how much it rotates.
We have experienced rides where the boat barely spun and others where it rotated much more than we expected.
The biggest concern for most adults will probably still be getting soaked, but motion sensitive guests should know that Bello Bay Cruise is not always a straightforward, forward facing boat ride.
Guests must be at least 40 inches tall, and children under 48 inches need a supervising companion.
Which Rides May Be Better for Motion Sensitive Adults?
No attraction can be guaranteed to be motion sickness friendly for every guest. However, some rides may be more manageable for adults who prefer forward movement over repeated spinning.
Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster
Cretaceous Coaster is a family coaster, but it is still genuinely entertaining for adults.
It offers traditional forward coaster movement rather than continuous circular spinning. Guests must be at least 39 inches tall, and children between 39 and 48 inches must ride with a supervising companion.
Adults who tolerate family roller coasters better than spinning rides may find this one more comfortable.
Shrek & Fiona’s Happily Ogre After
Shrek & Fiona’s Happily Ogre After is one of the gentler ride experiences in the park.
It may be a better option for adults who want to ride with their children without repeated spinning, large drops or coaster movement.
Can Children Ride Without an Adult?
That depends on the child’s height and the specific attraction.

Peppa Pig Theme Park Dallas , for example, requires shorter children to ride with a responsible rider on several attractions. Peppa Pig’s Balloon Ride also has a published maximum height of 79 inches.
LEGOLAND Florida also uses attraction specific minimum heights and supervising companion requirements. Children under certain heights need a responsible rider on attractions including The Dragon, Coast Guard Academy and several other family rides.
That does not mean every children’s park has identical vehicles or exactly the same adult fit concerns.
It does show that parks designed primarily around young children regularly have to balance smaller ride systems with the need for adults to accompany them.
How Does Universal Kids Resort Compare With Disney?
Families accustomed to Disney parks may notice a difference.
In our experience, many Disney attractions use wider benches, open rows, boats or larger family vehicles. That can make some Disney rides feel more accommodating for a range of adult body types.
Universal Kids Resort has more individual seats, molded vehicles and compact configurations designed around younger riders.
That does not mean Disney can accommodate every guest on every attraction. It also does not establish that one entire resort is universally more inclusive than another.
It simply means adults familiar with roomier Disney dark rides and boat rides may find some Universal Kids Resort vehicles more compact by comparison.
What Could Universal Improve?
The attractions currently operating at Universal Kids Resort have already been designed, manufactured and installed. Universal cannot simply enlarge every ride vehicle.
